Surgery in the Pool!

Tay has had a loose front tooth for over a week now. We were sure it would have fallen out days ago. While we were at a friend's pool this weekend, our friend Jamie yanked it out. When she did, it dropped into the pool! The tooth was found and Tay said it didn't hurt at all. She was VERY excited to have it out! She had been waiting for a visit from the tooth fairy. Now her other front tooth is loose. :)

Our Little Dancer

This past Sunday, Jaycie had her very first dance recital. She did really well which was a little bit of a surprise. Throughout her lessons she has been paying attention and really enjoying dance, however, I thought that once she was in front of an auditorium full of people she would clam up and go into "shy mode". She didn't! She looked adorable and says she wants to do it again. :)

She loved getting all dolled up with Mommy's makeup.

Her cousin Bella danced right next to her.

We are very proud of you Jaycie!!!

Arts & Crafts on the Cul-de-Sac

Today all the neighbor kids joined ours for arts & crafts on our front step. This got quickly moved to the lawn as we were starting to have a front step adorned with glitter glue! :) It was kinda like they were having their own little art camp. Tay had a craft book and they were all getting ideas from the book. I believe Tay was playing the role of teacher. I love our neighbors and so do the kids!

The Best of Friends

My parents have been friends with the Juday's for longer than I have been alive. That's my mom and Shar above. Throughout the years they have remained close and we have had many gatherings and celebrated many Christmases with them. They are like family. Now that the families have grown we have even experienced some summer mini-vacations together. We have lots of fun! All of these pics are from Shar's 60th B-day party at Bella Luna.
Mom, Shar and Erin in the back and Jodi, Tish and myself in the front. All of the women in the family but my brother's girlfriend Angie.
Here Jodi and I are with my dad and Rod...they are absolutely ornery together...always have been. They call each other Hermie and Leroy - I have no idea why, or I just don't remember.
It just so happens that Shar's daughter-in-law and I get along quite well...
I hope in the future we can look back on 35+ years of friendship too!

I'm with Lucille

These are what I believed to be the words to the song "Our Lips Are Sealed" by the Go-Gos until just recently. Yes...I am admitting to this. However, please don't think that this is the first time I have been confused by song lyrics.

For my entire life, in order to learn a song I needed and still need to listen to it over and over. Rewinding time and time again.

My children on the otherhand, have taken after their father. They absolutely know more words to today's songs than I do. Even Jaycie....and she's 4! I usually know the chorus but never catch on to the rest very easily. Maybe this is because I am a visual learner...or at least that is what I would like to think. But Tim and the girls can listen to a song very few times and retain the majority of the lyrics. It never ceases to amaze me.

I guess I just make up my own sometimes.

A Wonderful Mother's Day!

I had such a good day today. We went to brunch at Elcona with my family - they always have a HUGE spread for Mother's Day. This time I didn't even eat dessert on account of being so full, which is most certainly uncommon for me! :) Then we came home and worked on our new landscaping together. Later Tim's parents came over for dinner. Overall a truly enjoyable day! I love my family.

What did you put in Ariel's hair?

This is Jaycie's Ariel doll. She is a bath tub toy that has probably been in the tub once ever and has experienced many uncomfortable procedures...please note her face.

Well, the other morning I was getting Jaycie ready for school. I was doing her hair and as I was doing this Jaycie was brushing Ariel's hair. She said "Her hair is so soft Mommy." At first I thought nothing of this. But after a minute or so I began to wonder WHY her hair was so soft. I asked, "Jaycie, did you put something in Ariel's hair?"

She hesitated a bit and then asked, "Well, if I tell you will you be mad at me?"

Her back was turned to me and I instantly cracked a smile, "No, I won't be mad."

"It's lipgloss," she said.
